Day 1 – Airport Transfer to hotel in San Jose
At your arrival,you eill have a representative past the immigration point at the end of the ramp, waiting for you, holding a visible placard with your last name. The representative will not be able to provide assistance with your luggage inside the airport, as you’re the only person permitted to do so.
Once you have exited the airport, our driver will gladly assist you with your luggage and private
Day 2 – San Jose City Tour (B)
This tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica.
We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest. A brief stop will be made in a beautiful art craft shopping store allowing you to browse through it before returning to your hotel and why not, buy some souvenirs for those who are expecting you back at home.
Day 3 – Combo Tour
Poas Volcano .jpgThis tour takes us to the unforgettable Poas Volcano; across coffee plantations and scenic vistas, and then into the heart of the artisans´ workshops in Sarchi.
To embark on this tour we will take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela. En route we will see the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the popular Mango Park. As we ascend towards the Poas Volcano we will stop to learn more about our golden bean, which is a term used to describe the unique and savory coffee of Costa Rica. Then we will continue our trip through the fern, flower and strawberry farms taking in the scenic vistas along the way.
There is a noticeable change in temperature and vegetation, so be prepared to experience the cool and exuberant cloud forest of Poas Volcano National Park.
At the volcano we will have time to enjoy the impressive main crater with it’s fumaroles, and then go on a light hike traversing a trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon to learn about the different ecosystems. Next, after visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a scrumptious lunch at Doka Estate.
Our third stop is the town of Grecia, considered one of the cleanest towns in Latin America. Grecia is home to one of the only Metal Churches in Central America. The church is a national monument that fills its inhabitants with pride. Then shortly after visiting the metal church, in order to experience the local lifestyle, we will also visit the central market area, unique to the area.
Our last stop along the way is the town of Sarchi, known as the cradle of Costa Rican artisans. Here we will take in the artistic work of the local artisans, as they create the famous typical oxcarts. Then, we will be able to shop for that special souvenir to take home. And, if we are lucky we might be able to see the biggest oxcart in Latin America, a two-story spectacle unto itself.
Day 4 – Tortuguero 3 Day / 2 Night Package (B/L/D)
Baula TurtleWe will leave in the morning from San Jose towards Tortuguero. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by the Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension. Have a delicious Costa Rican breakfast en route. Board a comfortable boat upon arrival at the port and let this extraordinary exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious lunch as we welcome you to the lodge in Tortuguero. After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival at the lodge.
Day 5 – Tortuguero (B/L/D)
Get ready to hike the Tortuguero Hill or travel along the well-known Tortuguero Canals and have the experience of your life in this unique paradise of magnificent flora and fauna.
Day 6 – Tortuguero & Transfer to Arenal Volcano Area (B/L)
Arenal VolcanoWe will transport you by boat from the lodge to the dock. Then you will be transferred by shuttle to the Arenal Area
Day 7 -Visit to Baldi Hot Springs
The Arenal Volcano, situated in the province of Alajuela, is one the most active volcanoes in the Americas. In 1968 it erupted decimating the small town of Tabacón. After an enchanting day marveling at the awesomeness that is the Arenal Volcano, we will visit the Tabacon Hot Springs and bask in the soothing waters whilst being caressed by the cool night air and marveling at the crystal clear night sky as we contemplate our existence. Later that evening, we will treat you to a scrumptious dinner and at the end of the evening you will be transferred to your hotel in Arenal
Day 8 – Transfer to Monteverde & day at leisure in Monteverde (B)
Day 9 – Hanging Bridges at Sky Adventures
Day 10 – Transfer to Manuel Antonio & day at leisure in Manuel Antonio (B)
Day 11 – Manuel Antonio National Park Tour (B)
Manuel Antonio National Park is deservedly the most popular park in Costa Rica with beautiful white sand beaches surrounded by emerald waters and jungle. Our naturalist guides will explain the history and geography of the area as well as help you get the most of your visit, pointing out sloth, monkeys, iguanas, and a multitude of insects and birds during this very informative three hour walk.
*Please note that Manuel Antonio National Park is closed on Mondays.
